However, not all players have garnered the same level of attention to reach this step in the recruiting process. With time dwindling on the current season and the next one quickly approaching, there are still talented players left on the board capable of helping college programs bolster their rosters.

Aiming to increase their own recognition and find a spot at
the next level, these players continue to carry a chip on their shoulder and
bring top production to the court every game. The following recruits had strong
summers and have continued to play with reckless abandon in an effort to extend
their playing careers. These players aren’t just capable of making rosters at
the next level, but are capable of thriving there. He was a perfect complement to the floor spacers on his team and was instrumental to keeping defenses laxed for Pedulla and Scott on the perimeter. Shannon is an efficient slasher capable of collapsing defenses and doesn’t shy away from contact in the lane.

A natural fit as primary ballhandler, Shannon surveys defenses
very well and effectively utilizes his gravity off-the-dribble to open up his
teammates. Without forcing the issue and working solidly within the scheme of
the offense, Shannon finds ways to get the most out of every possession. He
displays excellent understanding of what needs to be accomplished, i.e.,
holding his man off the dribble, identifying defensive rotations, etc., in
order to ensure plays develop properly and lead to easy buckets.

The burst Shannon exhibits is another aspect of why his
combination of physicality and vision in traffic make him such a dangerous ballhandler.
Defenders must respect his ability to quickly get into space and navigate
counter-adjustments to score or dish. His acceleration and tenacity are also
what makes him such a keen and opportunistic player on the defensive end.
Shannon takes his defensive assignments personally and his feistiness leads to
ballhandlers getting sped up into turnovers.

The culmination of Shannon’s talents lead to a productive and reliable guard that can contribute at the next level. As a high upside scoring threat, facilitator and defender, he has the tools needed to impact the game however coaches need him to.

Shannon sizes up his man upon receiving the skip pass. Young has not been heavily pursued to this point, but has continued to put in visible work to develop and expand his game. Over the summer and current high school seasons, he has been on a tear and is a key cog towards his team’s on-court successes. His momentum is increasing by the day.

Young prides himself on the dirty work first. A notable
top-tier rebounder with terrific defensive instincts, Young has scored 19,
including a game-winning 3 over in-state power #1 Duncanville, and 22 points in
recent winning efforts. However, the most accomplished aspect of these performances
has been 16 rebounds in each contest. Young has a very big motor and leaves all
of his energy on the floor to come away with impact plays. He carries the ‘want-to’
with him in every aspect of his performances. His effort is hard to compete
with on the court and if defenders don’t bring the same energy they will get
outworked.

These impact plays undoubtedly provide some of the spark for
Young’s scoring outbursts, but his offensive arsenal is also well-rounded. Evidenced
by his love and attention to the effort plays, rebounding the ball and scoring
tough layups, Young has a patient offensive repertoire. He doesn’t force shots
to the rim and is readily capable of coming off of screens to hit both
perimeter and midrange shots with precision. Due to his physicality and
willingness to compete, Young has the talent to play any number of positions
and brings an exceptional amount of versatility to the floor. He has little
issue with putting the ball on the ground and climbing the trees to score.

It’s easy to see Young’s effort and decision-making on the court is purely about winning and not padding stats. Even in areas and situations on the court where he can score, Young is able to identify open teammates and distribute the ball accurately for the best outcome to win games. He is a hard-nosed player and asset every team needs to overcome those ‘slugfests’ and ‘rock-fight’ kind of games.

Young is able to quickly assess the defense is out of position upon receiving the ball. Kon has been elevating his play year after year and really turned a corner heading into his senior season. His production has even reached a high enough level that he recently surpassed current Georgia guard Sahvir Wheeler’s scoring mark at Houston Christian and is only 29 points away from taking the record from Northwestern’s Miller Kopp.

Kon is a terrific guard on the floor and can obviously put
up points in a hurry, as evidenced by his place among Heritage Christian’s
all-time best players. However, it’s not that Kon simply has size mismatches
every night or tons of free buckets. Rather it’s his understanding and recognition
of spacing and defensive positioning that enables him to flourish as the floor
general on the court.

Pacing is a huge aspect of this for Kon. He doesn’t solely
play at one speed and knows when he needs to push and slow things down with the
ball in his hands. He excels in the pick-and-roll and has no issues attacking
bigs who step out to cover him off-the-dribble or stay home to guard the rim. Furthermore,
a large part of this success is Kon’s ability to ferociously get by his primary
defender with crossover moves, change of pace and physicality. He is able to assess
the positioning of other players, because his immediate defender is quickly
removed from the equation.

Elevate, stop on a dime, finish through contact…it’s all
well within Kon’s arsenal to score by any means. Yet it’s his knowledge and instantaneous
processing on the court that continues to place constant pressure on defenses.
His ability to penetrate the lane doesn’t go unnoticed by his opponents, but
his vision and accurate passing ability allow him to counter essentially anything
thrown at him.

He’s a complete impact player on the court and doesn’t mind
mixing it up with others to make plays happen. His effort and speed are echoed
on the defensive end where he consistently disrupts defender’s shot attempts
and comfort handling the ball. He’s a complete guard and one that can come in right
away and contribute for a program.

Kon patiently reads the pick-and-roll scenario unfolding in front of him and waits to attack.
