Pick of the Day – 4/2/2019

5* Houston Rockets -5 @ Sacramento Kings – The Kings have failed to hang with the Rockets for the large part of their last 40 meetings. Over that span, Houston has dominated Sacramento by a record of 35-6 and has played 75% of those 41 games to a margin greater than 5 points. The Kings do not possess a player that can check James Harden and have faltered in the second half of the season. I’ll gladly lay the 5 points with the road team.

3* Denver Nuggets @ Golden State Warriors – O219.5 – Denver has somehow forgotten how to score the basketball and that putting it in the hoop wins games. The Nuggets are trying to fend off the Rockets for 2nd place in the West before the playoffs begin, but have dropped 3 of their last 5 games and scored 95 points or less in 4 of the 5. The bright spot during that span was a 115 point outing against OKC, one of the top defensive teams in the league. I think this game will be super competitive and will force Denver to come out swinging. Golden State is a scant 1 game up on Denver for 1st place and have been scoring the ball efficiently lately. The Nuggets will be forced to keep pace in this game by dropping their slow tempo and lead to a surge in points.
