Picks of the Day – 3/31/2019

4* Auburn @ Kentucky – U143 — The loss of Chuma Okeke is obviously terrible timing to lose a star player and will definitely make it more difficult for the Tigers to spread the floor offensively. Auburn’s guards can keep this game close, if they stay on fire from the perimeter. There will be a huge battle inside during this game between Austin Wiley and Reid Travis, which I think will slow the tempo down. Under is 12-3 in the last 15 matchups for these squads.

3* Michigan State @ Duke – U152 — Tom Izzo builds his teams off of physicality and should have a plan for slowing the tempo to prevent Zion and RJ Barrett from thrashing them on the fast break. This will be the third game in a row for Duke facing a top-level defensive team. The Blue Devils are going to be forced to shoot the ball frequently from outside the lane. Cam Reddish, Duke’s best pure shooter, is a game-time decision and will vastly impact the team’s ability to alter the Spartans defensively.

Memphis Grizzlies @ Los Angeles Clippers -8.5 (4*) & Over 221 (5*) — Both teams are on the second night of a back-to-back, after winning their first matchup. The end of the season is approaching and scheduling logistics should indicate tired legs for both teams. I expect both teams to be a little more inept on the defensive side of the ball, with the Clippers ultimately pulling away from the Grizz. Looking at Memphis’ injury report I’m not sure who exactly they plan on playing, because 8 players are already listed as ‘Questionable’ or ‘Out’ for tonight. Out- Jaren Jackson Jr, Kyle Anderson, Dillon Brooks, CJ Miles and Avery Bradley. Questionable- Mike Conley, Chandler Parsons and Joakim Noah. Who’s left?!?!
