The Nuggets managed their first win in the NBA seeding games over Oklahoma City without their starting backcourt of Jamal Murray and Gary Harris. The win was impressive and much needed to help gain momentum for a squad feeling the pain to produce on both ends of the floor. Their opponent, San Antonio, is making a strong push to replace Memphis as the Western Conference 8-seed. The Spurs are without LaMarcus Aldridge for the rest of the year and have missed veteran guard Marco Bellinelli, but the young core of guards have begun to put the pieces together. A last-second loss to Philadelphia in their last outing will be a learning experience, but this team is playing better with every outing. Denver definitely has the frontcourt advantage and strength in size in this matchup, but the Spurs stable and reliance on athletic guards puts them in a competitive spot against a team they know well.
Pick: San Antonio +5
